Questions people ask about FareMeter

How does it work out the fare?
From GPS distance and elapsed time together, the same way a real meter does. You enter the rates; the app does the arithmetic on every trip.
Can I match my local tariff?
Yes, and you have to: the rates are yours to set. Day, night, weekend and airport tariffs are separate, and extras cover tolls, luggage and waiting time.
Is it approved as a taximeter?
No. It is a tool for your own records and for showing a passenger how a fare was reached. A meter that has to be legal for hire is sealed and certified by your local authority, and a phone is not that.
Can I give the passenger a receipt?
Yes. Each trip exports as a PDF receipt, and the whole log exports as CSV or PDF for your accounts and your tax return.
Does it drain the battery on a long shift?
It uses GPS continuously, so keep it on the car charger for a full shift. The widget starts a trip in one tap without opening the app.
One payment or a subscription?
One payment. Pro unlocks and stays unlocked — there are no monthly fees.

The meter now speaks 33 languages: trip screen, payment sheet, widgets and the Apple Watch app are fully translated. Your Pro unlock now sticks even with no signal, the free trial is only shown when it actually applies to you, and every screen keeps its high-contrast dark look. Plus smoother full-screen ad handling. • Sitting at a light no longer adds distance to the fare. GPS drift is filtered out; waiting time still counts, as it should. • A trip survives a locked screen. It is saved while you drive and comes back if iOS closes the app mid-fare. • Currencies without decimals (¥, ₩, ₫) close on an amount you can actually be paid; the three-decimal dinars too. • The ad no longer lands on top of the total at the end of a trip.
