How accurate is measuring a ring on screen?

Within about half a size once the screen is calibrated. It is good enough to order with confidence for yourself; for a surprise engagement ring, have a jeweller confirm it.

Do I have to calibrate?

Once, and it takes a minute: hold a ruler or a bank card against the screen and match the on-screen scale. Every iPhone and iPad shows a slightly different physical size.

Can I measure a finger without having a ring?

Yes. The finger sizer is a slider you widen until the band on screen sits right on the finger.

Does it convert between international sizes?
