How much can I use for free?
5,000 characters a day, plus 2,000 per short video, up to five videos a day.
Where do the voices come from?
From iOS itself. The app puts the compact system voices — the ones people recognise as the classic robotic reading voice — one tap away, and shows you the exact route in Settings to download more. It is not the original engine from those years: that one cannot be licensed for an iPhone app, and we would rather tell you here than have you find out after installing.
Can it read a photo of a page?
Yes. Camera OCR recognises the text and reads it aloud.
